Forever Young

After bringing jack home from the hospital I started the tv series, Parenthood, on Netflix. The opening theme song is Bob Dylan’s, Forever Young, and one day while watching, it played with close captioning and showed the lyrics. I wanted to remember them so here they are. I wish every word of this song for Jack. The blog is one month old today! Thanks for checking it out everyone!

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

  1. My dad was the biggest Dylan fan, I’m sure you know. We played this song at his funeral and I played it for him at my wedding.

  2. Cece was about five or six months old when I started watching that series. She would be playing on the floor, hear the theme song and abruptly stop what she was doing to watch for the entirety of the song. It probably helps I sing Dylan songs to her. Such a great picture Erika!
